On Saturday 4 November 2023, Chester Racecourse’s iconic Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza will return to the Roodee! Enjoy the fireworks display that will illuminate the sky over the city, set to a curated playlist for an atmosphere unlike any other. Earlier in the evening there will be a junior fireworks display for younger ones who might not like big bangs to enjoy. Additionally, there will be exhilarating LED light performers providing a visual spectacle for all to enjoy in the lead-up to the main display.

Lumiere
16th-19th November
Lumiere, the UK’s light art biennial, will once again light up Durham City when it returns from 16 to 19 November. This year, the medieval city will undergo an incredible re-imagining with more than 35 light installations illuminating buildings, streets and waterways. Ai Weiwei is one of the world renowned artists who will be exhibiting at the event, which has attracted more than one million people since its launch in 2009.
