Alter (City of London)
Alter. is a vegan restaurant with a difference. Situated on the top floor of the Leman Locke Hotel in Aldgate, Alter’s dining room not only delivers exciting vegan food but also panoramic views of the City of London. The entire menu is completely plant based, drawing inspiration from global street food cultures rather than working with meat and dairy substitutes. We’d recommend their signature bread courses based on their rave reviews.
Stem & Glory (City of London)
Stem & Glory is a 100% vegan business with two restaurant locations in the City at Barts Square and Broadgate. Open throughout the day, Stem & Glory delights in serving fresh, colourful, exciting food with a global accent. Those looking to get their juice fix can head to the bar for fresh juices and kombucha mocktails, alongside more grown-up craft beers, wines and cocktails.
Orchid Vegan (York)
Orchid Vegan was created by a local couple who wanted to share their passion for Chinese vegan cuisines with locals and tourists. Located in the heart of York, you’ll be treated to an enticing selection of small plates, noodles and chef’s specials. Highlights include the “Aromatic Shredded Vegan Duck” which can be shared with family and friends. It’s a foodie’s dream!
Spark CIC – El Rayo Vegan Cantina (York)
Nestled within Spark CIC, you’ll find the incredible El Rayo Vegan Cantina. Specialising in fresh flavours that pack a punch, this new take on plant based mexican goodness is a treat for the tastebuds. The menu includes a range of mex-inspired burgers and burritos, all created by hand by York’s no.1 independent burrito cantina.
Shrub (Chester)
Located on Chester’s historic Rows, Shrub offers a fantastic view of the city from the covered terrace. Enjoy their 100% plant based with an extensive and delicious menu. Shrub’s passion for sustainability can even been seen through their supply chain as they only work with carbon neutral companies and pride themselves on being a carbon positive business.
The Herbarium (Lancaster)
The herbarium is a plant-based café and bar spread over two floors in one of Lancaster’s historical buildings. Throughout the day, you’ll find a mouth-watering selection of flavoursome breakfasts, sandwiches, soups and salads. You’ll also discover a delicious range of pastries and cakes to go with a freshly brewed coffee or colourful smoothie.
Evenings at Herb after Dark see a fully stocked bar and hot food served until 9 pm, loaded pancakes and a range of decadent burgers.
Slow Rise (Lincoln)
Slow Rise are experts in vegetarian and vegan pizzas. Freshly made onsite, the delicious slow proved dough here is hand stretched and stone baked to give that authentic Nepali style. We’re talking light and airy crusts with a beautifully thin base. Their pizzas are then topped with only the freshest ingredients. Options range from traditional toppings, to their more innovative flavour combinations. Just make sure you save room for one of their homemade tiramisus!
Pimento (Lincoln)
Nestled within Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter, Pimento is the city’s oldest vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Bursting with character, this popular eatery serves up a tempting array of vegan and veggie meals, light bites and sweet treats. They also offer a fantastic range of speciality teas and coffees, fresh smoothies and craft soft drinks. Grab a seat in the window and you can look out at the beautiful historic buildings that line Lincoln’s iconic Steep Hill.
Tango (Durham)
Overlooking the River Wear, preached on the medieval Elvet Bridge in the heart of historic Durham City you’ll find Tango, a family-run restaurant and bar dishing up delish vegetarian and vegan-friendly food.
If you love your comfort food with a side of people watching, Tango is the place for you. Watch the world go by as you tuck into delicious meat-free burgers, dirty vegan fries, loaded nachos and more, all washed down with lip-smacking cocktails and local ales.
Casa Romana (Carlisle)
Casa Romana serves homemade food, using quality ingredients from local and Italian suppliers and have gained a great reputation for its Vegan Menu since it started offering it as an option in 2016. Since then they have adapted lots of traditional dishes to suit Vegans. Anyone trying the Vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding and Vegan Eton Mess would be hard-pressed to guess that they are Vegan!
Timmy’s Bar and Kitchen (Carlisle)
Timmy’s Bar and Kitchen is Carlisle’s first fully vegan restaurant serving a variety of burgers, pizzas and a mix of dishes. Some favourites include chilli nachos, hot dogs, pasta, the Greek gyros as well as interesting sides and salads including mini bhaji flatbreads, cheezy garlic pizzas etc.
Oak (Bath)
The secret ingredient in OAK’s recipes is passion – their visually and deliciously stunning meals are all created out of a love of vegetables and plant-based food.
