Durham
Durham World Heritage Day – Easter Monday 10th April
Join the World Heritage Day celebrations on Easter Monday at Durham’s UNESCO World Heritage, as you see history come alive like never before!

Old fashioned Easter fun at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North – 15th – 18th April
Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, will be staging cracking Easter-themed activities around the museum from 15 to 18 April.
Whilst this will appeal to families, people of all ages will enjoy the nostalgic fun in store.
In the 1900s pit village, visitors can see traditional Easter dishes being made, including fish pie, hot cross buns and simnel cake, as well as making their own Easter wreath at the school.
Other highlights include egg and spoon racing in the 1950s welfare hall, egg painting in the 1820s Pockerley Old Hall and card making in the Masonic Hall in the 1950s town.
York
York Chocolate Festival – 5th – 9th April
Learn more about York’s rich chocolate history and sample some of the city’s finest cocoa at York Chocolate Festival. There’ll be workshops, free chocolate lollipop or egg making, chocolate tastings and a festival market.
